Junior Full-Stack Engineer

Convex Labs is a decentralized innovation network – i.e. a research and development lab that operates via a digital, crypto-native platform (think GitHub meets UpWork meets Blockchain Tech!).  Our network is developing an ecosystem that supports the development of new blockchain user experiences to enable the future of Web3.  This development is primarily focused on blockchain protocols.  We think BIG, experiment and collaborate broadly, hack for good, build with integrity, and believe “with great innovation comes greater responsibility.”

What you’ll do

As Junior Full-Stack Engineer, you’ll work with the Convex Core team (co-founders) to…

Contribute to front-end development for our first protocol (“Honest Protocol”):  for context, the goal of Honest Protocol is become the trust and curation layer of Web3.  We believe the protocol will achieve this goal by enabling public and private labeling of assets, addresses, contracts, and transactions (components) in the Web3 stacks.  The front-end development for the protocol includes a webpage for data scientists to submit and modify submitted labels, a webpage for Web3 marketplaces and protocols to visualize and consume the labels, and an application that integrates the protocol into the flow of Web3 consumers transactions.

Build new, public-facing web pages:  in collaboration with the co-founders and designers, you’ll update the Convex website (ConvexLabs.xyz), update the website for our first public protocol (HonestNFT.xyz), and work on various dashboards building on the work of our research team.

Requirements and skills

• A degree holder in Computer Science, a related discipline, or experience to offset this
• 2+ years professional engineering experience
• Experience using Python, JavaScript, Typescript, React, Redux, and NodeJS is highly preferred
• Have good knowledge on database (SQL, relational database and noSQL database)
• Experience with agile project management processes
• Experienced and comfortable with remote team dynamics, process, and tools (Slack, Zoom, etc.)
• Experience leading teams with clear communication skills
• Ability to work independently, and take responsibility and pride over your work
• Ability to write high performance, high security code

Also, ideally…

• 1+ years of Web3 development experience
• Participation in the general web3 ecosystem
• You have good English language communication skills
• You have an ability to work well within a culturally diverse and distributed team
• You’re hungry, smart, talented, and collaborative
• You execute with speed, high standards, and contribute new ways of thinking
• You can show some historical work relevant to the role
• You can be trusted with highly confidential information and act discreetly
