Madhive is an end-to-end advertising solution that leverages cryptography and machine learning to power modern media. Madhive’s advertising suite provides tools for audience forecasting, precision targeting and activation, and cross-screen attribution against its proprietary OTT-first device graph. Customers include advertisers that leverage Madhive’s next-generation cryptography to prevent fraud and increase margins, and broadcast giants that leverage the platform to power their digital TV offerings.

 

We are deeply invested in addressing structural issues within our industry (fraud, misaligned incentive structures, privacy concerns, lack of supply-chain transparency, and waste, to name a few). We are strategically exploring ways to drive the adoption of cryptography in adtech via MadNetwork, our sister company, and as a founding member of AdLedger.

About Madhive Engineering:

To give you an idea of what we’re working on, we deal with a huge scale of data (in the petabytes!) and currently undertaking millions of requests a second. We’re at the edge of technology, and our engineers push the limits of what’s actually possible with the best technologies. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll work on various projects based on the intersection of your affinities, abilities, and development goals.

Examples of systems our teams build:

• Infrastructure responsible for our real-time bidding system by executing our advertising campaigns by responding to real-time auctions, tracking the resulting wins and event fires, and producing the canonical history of delivered ads.
• We deal with massive amounts of data here at Madhive. To be able to use it, we need the ability to move it around, aggregate, maintain, and turn it into usable information that powers our platform.
• External & internal APIs that enable frictionless integration within our platform, ranging from custom reporting for ad-hoc analysis to platform APIs for programmatic activation of programmatic ad campaigns, and much more!
• Our stack lives in the warm embrace of GCP. Our engineers are language agnostic, but core technologies for our backend include Golang, gRPC, BigQuery, Postgres, Airflow, Bigtable, Docker, Spanner, Firebase, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

As an engineer, you’re entrusted with the responsibility of taking our shared platform vision and making it a reality. We hire engineers who can autonomously own complex scopes of work and who can deliver product-grade code with minimal guidance.

 

Ideally, you’ll have had 3+ years of experience building robust backend systems at scale. We look for “T” shaped engineers — those who are competent across a wide range of technologies, with deep expertise in at least one technical domain.

 

Besides raw technical ability, we select those with a strong ownership mentality and a passion for being at the bleeding edge of tech.  At Madhive, the best idea wins regardless of where it comes from. We aim to hire team players who can synthesize and distill information across various perspectives, contribute their opinions in an egoless way, and collaborate effectively across departments.

 

Previous experience in adtech is not required. Our engineers come from a diverse array of backgrounds, including big tech (Google), quantitative hedge funds (Bridgewater), and crypto exchanges (Gemini).

 

Bonus points if you are an expert with certain technologies in our stack and/or have experience architecting petabyte-scale data pipelines, consumer-grade APIs, or high-performance distributed systems.

 

The approximate compensation range for this role is $150,000 to $250,000. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
