Job Description:

Pudgy Penguins is seeking a talented WebGL Developer to join our team in creating an immersive and enchanting MMORPG experience. As a WebGL Developer, you will play a pivotal role in crafting the whimsical world of Pudgy Penguins, allowing players to embark on quests, partake in mini-games, and connect with friends in an engaging digital environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop Immersive WebGL Experiences: Utilize your expertise in WebGL to build engaging and performant 3D environments and interactive experiences within the Pudgy Penguins universe.
• JavaScript Mastery: Leverage your 3-5 years of experience in writing clean, organized vanilla JavaScript to create efficient and robust code without relying on frameworks.
• Shader Development: Create and optimize shaders, demonstrating an understanding of their performance implications and utilizing basic linear algebra where necessary.
• Performance Optimization: Debug and enhance the performance of WebGL applications, implementing tailored solutions like frustum culling strategies, batching, LODs, etc., ensuring compatibility across various devices.
• 3D Package Integration: Apply your knowledge of 3D packages such as Blender or Houdini to enhance workflows and contribute to procedural workflows within the development process.

Requirements:

• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated experience (2-3 years) in building immersive WebGL experiences from scratch, backed by a robust portfolio showcasing your work.
• JavaScript Expertise: Strong command over vanilla JavaScript, keeping abreast of modern practices and showcasing the ability to develop tools or helpers as needed.
• Shader and Performance Optimization: Proficiency in writing shaders, understanding their impact on performance, and implementing optimizations for diverse device compatibility.
• 3D Package Familiarity: Knowledge of 3D packages like Blender or Houdini and an eagerness to explore procedural workflows.
• Passion for Gaming and Creativity: A genuine interest in crafting memorable experiences, gaming, and a commitment to contributing to Pudgy Penguins’ uplifting content mission.
